For the past 5 years we’ve hosted our initiative 100 Dresses for Little Dresses for Africa in support of non profit organization Little Dresses for Africa.

We were preparing this month to announce the save the date for our 6th Annual 100 Dresses event to be hosted in June.   Given the current state of events with COVI-10 around the world and so much uncertainty, won’t be making that announcement.  What we will do is continue to be of service where it’s needed in ways that we can.

So, Gwen Beloti Collection along with three other small women owned businesses, are collectively we're making 100 masks to donate to medical professionals.

We're shipping them to the Deaconess Hospital who put the call out for material masks.  Once they receive them they will sterilize and disseminate for use as they see fit.

Each of us a professional designer and sewer, using our skill-set and the resources that we have at our disposal to follow the recommended guidelines outlined by the hospital staff.

Below is more information about urgency for "something" in lieu of what might be ideal, but could very well have some efficacy.

"It's gotten to the point where the CDC is now advising nurses and doctors to use bandanas if they can't find a mask" - Vogue article

"Shortages of specialized masks moved federal health officials this month to liberalize their recommendations about which face protection front line health-care workers should use to ward off the highly contagious disease stemming from coronavirus." Deaconess article

"This does follow CDC protocols that you can find on their website that if all other supplies are not available, that handmade masks that meet certain criteria are acceptable," Deaconess article

"This is not outside CDC guidelines if other supplies are exhausted. And so we want to have these coming in," - Deaconess article

“We will be able to sterilize these masks and use them repeatedly as needed. While it’s less than ideal, we want to do our best to protect our staff and patients during this pandemic." - Deaconess article

So glad to have connected with these amazing women and their businesses, I'm immensely grateful for their support.
