We’re UBER excited to update you on the Big Dinner in Brooklyn Fundraiser.
As you may recall, businesses, groups, and organizations in various cities across the globe gathered on 11.12.16 to host fundraising dinners in support of non-profit organization Little Dresses for Africa. In one single night these entities collectively raised over $100,000. This money is currently being used to help transform twelve villages in Africa. The people and the children of these villages will be afforded clean water, a primary school education and a community center which will ultimately improve lives.
We’re so excited to know that the work has already begun. The first hostel that will be run by Chief Kachindamoto is currently being built. Chief Kachindamoto is an advocate for the rights of little girls and boys in Malawi. She has accomplished a lot in a few years including the annulment of 850 child marriages and sending all of the children involved back to school. The girls rescued from these marriages will be housed in the hostel.
Already received is 100 mattresses for the girls, currently being prepared for shipment are quilts and pillows. The hostel will have not just beds and pillows but electricity and plumbing inside.
Such AMAZING news!!! We are so delighted and humbled to have been a part of such a life changing experience.
Thank you to all Gwen Beloti dinner guests, we appreciate you!!!
