10 SELF CARE TIPS IN TIME FOR SPRING


When the seasons switch, and nature shows its hidden treasures through the greenery and longer days, we know it’s time to spruce up for spring.  Our space, our wardrobe and more importantly our inner-being.  How we care for ourselves and prioritize inner beauty should always come before the outer aesthetic.


We hope you’ve decided to take care of you. Here’s a list of 10 ways that you can put yourself first, inspired the Gwen Beloti team and what we’re prioritizing this spring:


  1. Exercise - studies show that exercise is important to our physical and mental health.  No to mention it’s a mood booster.  It might not be our favorite thing to do so starting with something that’s more your speed like walking, bike riding, or yoga, are all great ways to get the body moving. 
  2. Massage - after we’ve moved our bodies and got our heart rates up, a relaxing massage will help us recover and loosen our muscles.
  3. Balanced Diet - eating a nutrient rich meal can improve our health and overall well-being.  Choosing healthier options gives our bodies what it needs to function properly.
  4. Meditation - quiet time is a way to honor your thoughts.  When we get rid of the noise it can give us a sense of calm and peace.
  5. Lunch with a friend - as humans we crave connectedness.  A simple meet up with a friend can be just what we need to be reminded that we have a community.
  6. Rest - when the sun is out and the weather is beautiful, we’ll probably want to be out and about more, and staying busy, but remember that the body needs rest.  It needs time to rejuvenate so we can tackle the next day and the day after that. 
  7. Sleep - as we slow down a bit, and practice relaxing activities so we don’t overwhelm ourselves, let’s remember to get ample sleep as well.  It keeps our mind and body healthy and recharges us for the next day. 
  8. Gratitude practice- acknowledging what we have to be grateful for, maybe saying it out loud, or writing it down in our journal, is proven to be an immensely powerful and rewarding experience.

9. Dress up- get dolled up and for no reason at all.  We know that when we look good, we feel good. You know that favorite outfit or clothing item that we all have that makes us feel impeccable, wear it! 
10.
